OVERVIEW
Creating and Maintaining Social Enterprises is a comprehensive course designed to equip individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish and sustain impactful non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and social enterprises. This course will guide participants through the essential steps of creating and maintaining successful initiatives that address critical social issues. It is suitable for both aspiring and established social entrepreneurs, as well as those looking to develop or strengthen their nonprofit organizations.

Hilary Binder-Aviles
LEADING AMERICAN NGO DEVELOPMENT EXPERT
Hilary Binder-Aviles is a leading American NGO development expert. She has 25 years of experience working with NGOs at all levels. She provides training and assistance in the areas of NGO startups, program/organizational planning and management, evaluation, governance, fundraising and advocacy. She previously worked for Mosaica: The Center for Nonprofit Development and Pluralism, and was co-founder and executive director of Sol & Soul, a grassroots NGO that used arts and culture as a tool for social change. Hilary has extensive experience working with citizens from around the world and has trained and facilitated planning for NGOs in Brunei, Egypt, Iraq, Singapore and Yemen. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wellesley College and a master’s in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Hilary is the lead author of The NGO Handbook, published by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Information Programs.

Omékongo Dibinga is a motivational speaker, trilingual poet, author, television host and rapper. He was one of five international recipients to win the first CNN iReport Spirit Award. Omékongo has studied at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Georgetown, Morehouse and The Fletcher School, where he received his M.A. in law and diplomacy. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in international education policy at the University of Maryland. His motivational book G.R.O.W.
